Raw product reception and inspection

Madagascan producers hand-pollinate the vanilla flowers to turn them into pods. Once the vanilla has been harvested, the product is brought to our warehouse. We carry out an initial quality control and sort the pods to keep only the best.

Treatment of pods

The process of ripening the pods takes around 4 months, during this time we carry out several steps to obtain pods with perfect flavour and aroma. The pods are cooked at 60 degrees, dried naturally by the sun, sorted and then stored until they are fully ripe. They are then vacuum-packed.

Quality control

We carry out tests to ensure the quality of our product. This includes checking the humidity levels and the size of the pods. We obtain a level of 2.3% vanilla essence per pod. Once the pod has passed all the tests, we can pack it for delivery.

Raw product reception and inspection

We work with Madagascan cinnamon growers selected with great care. Once harvested, they deliver the raw material to our warehouse. The cinnamon must be free of metals and other waste, so we submit it to a metal detector and test the humidity level to ensure that the products match Swiss quality standards. These tests are carried out by an independent laboratory and we ensure that the maximum humidity level is 14% for a quality product.

Sorting cinnamon

Once the quality control part has been completed, we meticulously sort the cinnamon pieces and sticks by hand. This allows us to eliminate waste and particles. The cinnamon sticks are then separated from the chips and bark. The noble chips (HNNG) and the other chips (CZ4) are reserved for powder processing.
